The Actuarial Association of Montenegro ( "Crnogorsko aktuarsko društvo"- www.aktuari.me) and Actuaires du Monde (in English: Actuaries of the World) arrange a 2-day in-person workshop on “Introduction to ERM and the role of the actuary’ for the members of the Actuarial Association of Montenegro and interested persons from Montenegro and countries facing comparable challenges.
The lecturer is Mr Wolfgang Hoffmann, DAV Actuary, from Germany (click for CV).
Background information
In Montenegro, the insurance regulation is Solvency1 regime. As part of the EU accession process, the regulator has recently drafted a new insurance law and preparatory guidelines on the system of governance, based on the EU Solvency II directive and ICP7 & 8 of the IAIS. As most of the insurers in the market belong to EU based insurance groups, they already perform certain calculations and reporting in accordance with S II. However, the market lacks knowledge, expertise and best practices concerning the transition to the new regulatory regime. The Actuarial Association of Montenegro wishes to contribute to the awareness and capacity building of the industry by organizing this workshop on risk management. They are intended to introduce the concept of risk management in general, the (key) function of risk management in risk-based regulatory regimes and the role of the actuary in the process.
